To Our Members,

We would like to introduce ourselves to you and send Season's Greetings to all of you and bring you up-to-date as to what is happening with the Chapter.

During this year, we have lost two of our Chapter's members, Sylvia Frazier and Scott Plaisance who are with our heavenly father now.  We did not personally know Sylvia Frazier, but understood from other members of the Chapter, that she was a very fine lady.  We did know Scott Plaisance and it was very hard for us when we lost him to stomach cancer, in the prime of his life.  His wife Lucile and his daughters Teri, Kali, and Jami are coping with the loss of a wonderful husband and father.  Scott kept his promise to me and Larry, by coming in to be installed as the Associate Patron for me.  That was on June 2, 2008.  We then lost Scott around the 23rd of June.  It was his dedication to Eastern Stars that Scott did this for us, even though he was very sick.  On a lighter note, if it can be, Marvin Byerly is preparing to receive a kidney, from one of his daughters and with the prayers and God's kindness; we will see him joining us once again in the Chapter Room.  We would also like to say welcome back to Edna Brown.

The Chapter really needs the support of all the members to keep us going.  We are down to a bare minimum and sometimes, if it weren't for the Protems from the other chapters in the district, we would not be able to hold our meetings.  Please come out and support the chapter.  This Chapter belongs to all the members and we need each and every one of you to ensure that we do not have to fold.  If you would like to call us and talk, please call 1-803-788-1007 or if you would like to e-mail us instead, our e-mail address is l_brantzeg@bellsouth.net.
